Our preschool program provides a hands-on classroom experience designed for the Pre-Kindergarten child. Activities are designed to further the students' Kindergarten readiness skills. Weekly experiences include Prayer, Music, Math, Literacy, Science, & Art.
Kindergarten is a full-day program, five days a week from 8:20 - 2:30 PM. Kindergarten students receive the full compliment of course offerings. A partnership program with older students helps kindergartners in their transition to the primary grades.
Elementary School Program
In grades one through five, there is a strong emphasis on the basic skills, including phonics, mathematics (both computation and problem solving), and writing. Students also receive instruction is social studies and science, where they learn the facts as well as participate in projects and experiments.
Middle School Program
The Middle School Program at St. Joseph School is distinct among those in ISD 196 because of size, curriculum, and learning environment. The program is limited to a total of 84 students in grades 6 - 8. Students learn about the Catholic Church and its traditions at a deeper level. Lasting friendships can be fostered over 9 years and continuing into high school. Opportunities for leadership and mentoring are provided through many avenues, such as Family Circles. Students are required to give back to the community through service and stewardship.
